The Dandelion Project

“Dandelions demonstrate an incredible ability to thrive in diverse environments, supporting other plants around them. Even when severed and uprooted, they possess a remarkable resilience, transforming into many new plants and persistently seeking new paths to flourish.”

Adrienne Maree Brown

What is it all about?

Artivism is the powerful blend of art and activism, where creativity becomes a catalyst for social change.

The Dandelion Project is an initiative designed for Palestinian and Israeli Artists to cultivate a culture of solidarity. Our mission is to empower Artivists as transformative leaders by providing them with essential professional skills to develop and become leading figures in their field.

Why are we doing this?

In the midst of ongoing conflict and oppression, there is an urgent need for a new political reality. Unfortunately, many individuals and organizations in the field of activism are divided and lack shared language and vision, resulting in exhaustion and isolation. Our goal is to inspire a revitalized wave of compassionate activists, promoting collective action, empathy, and unity, and striving for a new society where justice and solidarity are not just aspirations but lived realities.

Empowering Artivists

We seek to empower Artivists who work around the conflict through community, mentorship, and skill-building. By creating a supportive network and encouraging collaboration, artivists gain collective strength and impact. Through practical workshops and mentorship, they will learn effective project management, communication, and strategic planning, complemented by the establishment of a robust alumni network. This network further strengthens their collective impact enabling positive social change. Empowered artivists shape political narratives, serving as a fertile ground for the growth of a movement for change.

Fueling Change

We aim to drive the use of innovative political imagination. By fostering a community of artists with strong leadership skills, we envision a future where compassion, justice, and resilience thrive, breaking the constricting narratives and serving as a meaningful milestone in eventually ending the occupation and oppression in this land.

Methodology and Impact

The Project functions as a "Greenhouse" for leaders and cultural entrepreneurs, harnessing the transformative power of art and culture to foster alternative ways of thinking in the reality of the conflict.

Within this platform for collaboration, Artists are nurtured as influential catalysts for more interconnected group action. Through providing a supportive network, funding opportunities, and professional training, we magnify their potential to affect meaningful change and shape a better future.

Program Structure

The Dandelion Project invites 10 pairs of leader Artivists and cultural entrepreneurs who have already demonstrated some impact in their field to submit their own Projects, and with our support, helps them take their project to the next level. Through mentorship and seed funding, we empower their initiatives with confidence. As they progress, they become part of a vibrant Alumni community, advocating for compassionate leadership and inspiring positive change.

The Road Ahead

Over the span of five years, The Dandelion Project empowered more than 100 Artivists, enabling them to implement over 50 impactful initiatives that positively touch the lives of more than 5,000 individuals.

Anchored by an annual gathering and a strong community, we will illuminate the path forward as a beacon of inspiration, nourishment, and collaboration, strengthening the global movement of peace-builders emphasizing a radical political imagination, we look towards "the day after" with hope, envisioning a future shaped by justice and liberation. Join us on this transformative journey as we cultivate visionary leaders who will shape a brighter future for all.

Our mission is to foster a Movement of Artist-Leaders fueled by compassion, love, and a vision to forge a new narrative of freedom, equality, and justice.

At the core of the movement is a leadership program for artivists that will provide training for hundreds of leaders in a supportive environment of artistic & cultural initiatives. Through this program, liminal spaces are embraced, expanding the boundaries of our perception and fostering the creation of a fresh cultural language.

Together with independent initiatives, this movement becomes a driving force for change, giving rise to a new artivist language. Our aspirations encompass inspiring a more equitable society, embracing collective struggle, and nurturing a culture of nonviolence—a crucial milestone towards ending the occupation.
